This is the personal blog of a young(ish) international hodgepodge. I usually reside somewhere between St. Petersburg, Russia and coastal cities in the U.S. I love cityscapes, marine animals, the smells of pine trees and freshly baked bread. You can often find me on a beach sinking my toes into the sand, on public transportation scribbling in a notebook, or sipping on Earl Grey tea. Water is a motif in my life and I don't think I could live someplace that didn't have a coast, marina, or harbor.
In my most anonymous moments I go by LaRusse. But you can call me Daria. Hi and welcome.
The site behind the curtain
I come to this place to document, contemplate, and process the goods and the bads of this sad and beautiful world of ours. Sometimes I intersperse English with Russian, and that is purely because I miss using my native language on a daily basis.
I hope you find here something of interest, and that you will join me on this blogging journey. It should be fun!
I'm not sure why I have a need to compartmentalize, but it's just that some thoughts fit better elsewhere:

~ I think about feminist issues on a daily basis and so I try to post some of these thoughts in English, time permitting. We are all phenomenal women. Phenomenal, that's us:
